Shy guys have it rough when it comes to dating of any kind. In a world where the man is still by and large expected to make the first move a shy fella is at a distinct disadvantage. Plus, shyness comes across as a lack of confidence and there is truly nothing less attractive than that for both men and women. So how does a shy guy make his way in the modern dating world? Online dating is a good way to start. Shy rarely means a total lack of confidence. Instead, it typically means an unwillingness on the part of the shy guy to put himself out there for a variety of reasons with fear of rejection being near the top of the list. Online dating allows a shy guy to be safe as he puts himself out there by messaging girls and trying to start a relationship before the intimidating meet in person. This ease of use and lack of in person rejection has no doubt helped online dating grow as a widely accepted way to meet people.
So how can a shy guy use online dating to his advantage? To banish the shyness it’s important for the guy to be comfortable and confident and online interaction is a great way to ensure those states of being. If you conduct the start of the relationship online you can share a significant part of yourself with the girl before you ever have to meet her and you can be sure that she actually wants to meet you and spend time with you before you do so. That means by the time you’re standing face to face with her you’ll be completely confident that she wants to be there, that she likes you, etc. That confidence is the key to bringing a shy guy out of his shell so he can show the girl why he’s worth dating and forming a long term relationship with (or simply hooking up with if that’s what you’re into).
What if you’re so shy that you’re even afraid to message girls online? That’s a little more difficult to deal with but it’s not impossible. Here is some more dating advice. If the shyness overwhelms before you even fire off a message you need to change your tactics. Your best option is to find a girl that shares an interest of yours and message her about it. This can be anything as long as it’s something your passionate about. When you’re genuine in a message to a potential date it comes across and it’s the same as confidence, which means it’s utterly irresistible. If she shares your passion then she’ll be instantly attracted to you and that wall of shyness will come crashing down. You’ll always have to meet a girl in person, no matter how shy you are. This can be right away if the girl doesn’t want to chat online or after several months of getting to know each other online. No matter when it happens a shy guy can do a few things to ensure he’s more comfortable. The general rule is to meet somewhere you feel confident. For instance, if you’re a huge fan of comics then meet the girl in a comic shop so you feel comfy, at home, and able to speak with confidence about the comics for sale (hopefully she’s a fan too and that’s why you want to date her). Every guy has something he’s passionate about (and if you don’t you should find something) and that should be used to your advantage to help you out in the world of online dating, particularly if you’re shy.
